One of the biggest mistakes players make in 7 card stud eight or better is to call frequently on fourth street when they catch a bad card. This goes double if they were going for low and their opponent catches a second good low card, this is because that low card must help him/her by either giving them a four to a low, or a 3 two a low and a pair. I can't stress this enough for players to fold on fourth street if they brick on fourth street while facing multiple lows, because your saving your bets which add up nicely in the end. Now a lot of beginning 7 card stud eight or better players think that it'll only cost one bet to see fifth street, but this is not the case because experienced players will see that you are drawing will raise and re-raise.
